Human beings have been writing for approximately 1/10 of our history on Earth. But a regular person able to write, edit, and self-publish their own work? That’s literally .001% of human history.
We are living in a Golden Age of Writing. But all that communication (and the untested impact of AI) makes it all the more important to use our tools wisely.
Human beings become more important, not less, in the era of AI. But how do writers and editors battle for the value of human prose when polished, catchy manuscripts can be produced in 30 seconds with the click of a mouse?
I believe the keys lie where humans excel: sharing our inspiration and supporting each other.
Slick phrases are now a dime a dozen. But interesting, inspirational, life-changing ideas still require real humans to plumb the depths of our experience and put our work out for readers.
After 30 years as an editor, writer, and educator, I had to overcome years of burnout and chronic health issues, but I finally figured out how to make my work…work for me. Now I love to support communicators in doing what they love and making a living at it.
I have decades of experience as a small business owner. I’ve taught over 3,000 clients how to achieve their writing goals: major publication credits, grants, prizes, recognition, customers.
My editing superpowers are understanding the genre or expectations, finding weak spots in the manuscript – my own or a client’s – and cheerleading the writer through the practical moves to meet their goal. Success requires so much more than just a good manuscript. Our work has to get out into the world and do its job, whether that’s finding customers, readers, or acclaim. I make that fun, and I make it happen!
Moving real people demands real heart and real attention to refining the soul of the work. I love that transformative moment when I see a killer point or an emotional peak waiting to be polished so it shines.

More about me: As an author and reader, my passion is (I can admit it) paranormal and fantasy cozies, especially the ones where a group of friends supports each other. I always need to be inspired by happiness and joy. I am also an artist (knitting and crochet, and now learning to draw in my 50s!) and I love a good thrift store or charity shop, especially if I can walk along the water or through a garden to get there. I am based with my husband, Steve, of 28 years in Philadelphia, PA.
